On today’s Thanksgiving episode of What’s This Food?!, I’m taking a look at one of the must have’s on the turkey-day spread: Cranberries. Most often, you’ll see folks making cranberry sauce, baking cranberries into breads, or using them in savory dishes. Today, we’ll be infusing our cranberries with Teatulia tea, adding more depth and complexity to a holiday staple.

Ciao Daniel,
I just love your podcast and have enjoyed them quite a bit. I even use them in my language training courses and my students like them too.
I just have a quick question for you. In Italy we can’t get fresh cranberries but I have been able to find a few suppliers who can get me dried ones. Do you have any ideas how I could make a relish/sauce from dried cranberries?
I appreciate your ideas and keep up the podcasts!!! I miss not seeing them!
Hey Marissa! I haven’t tried that, but I don’t think it could hurt! Try re-constituting them by simmering them in water. Maybe add a bit of lemon juice. I don’t know that you’ll need much sugar, but you might need something with pectin to thicken it. All that said, while it is a tasty addition to a meal, the cost of reconstituting dried cranberries might prove more expensive, and more money, than it’s worth.
