Hey Daniel, I love your work! Have you ever had garlic scapes? I discovered them last summer at the farmer’s market. I roasted them with a bit of olive oil, salt & pepper. They tasted like garlic flavored green beans – Delish! Do you know any other recipes with them?
Thanks,
Carrie
Hey Carrie!
Thanks for watching the show. Glad you’re enjoying it.
I too love garlic scapes, and also just discovered them this past year. I’ve been using them as a substitute any time I’d use garlic. I also pickled some of them, but found them to be a bit too bitter.
Right now they’re not in season. When they return I’ll be sure to cover them on WTF and come up with an interesting recipe.
Thanks,
Dan
Hi Daniel,
I happened to run across your site from Celise being so excited that you explained the celery root. This is the exact kind of site I have been looking for forever! Okay, down to business. I live in Arizona and lately I have been seeing in almost every market the Chayote Squash. I love squash but they look weird and a bit itimidating. Help! What can you do with them and how would you prep them?
Thanks, and Im in love with the site!
Hey Chelsea – Awesome – I’ve added Chayote to the list, and will be sure to cover it soon.
Glad you’re digging the site.
