Scenes from a crime: Boxee’s Superbowl Party

A good friend of mine has a tech company called Boxee. They’re super smart about getting content from the web (and now cable) to your TV. My assumption is that watching TV is a normal and expected extension for them, so when our home team is in the Superbowl, there’s no questioning that they go all out. And I like going all out. So when my buddy Idan called me up and asked me to smoke some ‘cue for Big Blue, I was all in. When my hands weren’t too greasy, I snapped a few pics. Take a look. GO GIANTS!

Brisket, right out of the smoker.

Slicing into the flat.

The pink color is known as a 'smoke ring,' and develops during the slow and low smoking process, as smoke enters the fat and muscle.

The other side of brisket is known as The Point. It's much fattier. When in a restaurant, you can get this side by asking for your 'wet brisket.'

This is what part of the spread looked like. Game on.

  1. Nice work sport! The thing is with really well prepared, full of juicy flavor and not overdone brisket, as yours looks to be, you really don’t need any type of sauce as a condiment even in a sandwich. Hope all is well! xo

  2. Avner Ronen says:

Was once of the best BBQs ever!

  3. Andrew says:

BBQ was top – notch, and although Heidi is right, the sauces and flavor combinations you put together set you apart from all the other BBQ out there.

I came in for a 10am meeting and then immediately helped myself to more : )
